 The Spiritual Path

Picture
We are all on the Spiritual Path whether we realize it or not.  The materiality of our world is so convincing and so seemingly real that it tends to over-shadow our Spiritual awareness....we easily forget our true mission and our True nature..."Universal Expressions of Infinite God Conscious Energy".

Our awareness of who we really are becomes the trail-head of our journey.  There is a saying that "ignorance is bliss".  When it comes to our Spiritual path I could not disagree more...I believe that ignorance of the laws of life is really the greatest disadvantage.  Life is a journey not a destination.  In his book The Engergy Bus one of Jon Gordon's characters is an eighty-eight year old man whose wisdom of life is, "to live life young, have fun, and arrive at your final destination as late as possible with a smile on your face".  Our recent sunrise service was a reminder that we are of a bigger life than
we sometimes remember, that the Universe wakes to us anew each morning, and the sun rises to light our path of our days, that we are one with an infinite Love and Intelligence that is forever calling us...to be more of our own unique self.

Our path is a path of light, and it is also, believe it or not, the path of least resistance-for when we listen to the Divine within us and follow that still small voice, the signs will appear as guide posts, and our way will be known.  We have all  made mistakes...we fail, we fall on our faces, we succeed, yet somehow as long as we stay out of judgment...especially self condemnation or self aggrandizement...and when we decide to no longer continue down that worn and dusty road...we take a new path.

There is something that Brenda wrote once about the path...our listening to that still small voice; and our own struggle to remain true to the journey and to not look back...to understand how we sometimes
lose our way but are never really lost.  She agreed I could use it here:

You can listen without hearing...you can look without seeing...you can walk along thinking you are going somewhere...until one day when you say how did I ever end up here again...I thought I would come around the next bend anytime...and you did only to realize that it seems you had been there before...and then...if you are very astute...and have tried exceedingly hard...seeking...even in the darkest darkness...and have been true...and honest...and good...with love...for all...that you have seen...you will begin to notice...the same tree...the same rocks...the same lay of the land...and you will say this circle must be very big...and very tricky...the light must change often...the birds must sing a different song each time I pass...but I see now they are the same birds after all...and you will say the dirt is soft on my feet...but the path...I have worn to dust and it clings to my garment...and surrounds my being and I can't breathe very well and I am weary....and then...you will know...that you have been going around in a big closed circle...that you were really going nowehre at all...and you wll realize that a lesser scout would have continued around forever...and you will be overcome with the Omnipotence...the Grace...and Love...of the All That Is...which took you by the hand and led you from your circle to the path of light...that is really a river flowing onward ever changing...and full...and rich...and abundant...I really believe and have had demonstrated to me many times...that there is a power greater than we are...that calls us always forward...there is no more room for looking back...it doesn't matter why, who, or how...there is no room because if there is...our present and our future are not full enough...it doesn't matter because it got us here and here we are on the path of light...led by the Love  of the infinite.

Let us affirm "Divine Guidance directs me on my Path, I am wise with the wisdom of Spirit."

We send many blessings..John and Brenda
