We all carry the potential for deep inner wisdom, but trusting our intuition in daily life can often feel elusive. For so many of us, regardless of whether we stepped away from strict dogma or are just searching for deeper meaning, the path inside can be both inviting and intimidating. This is why I want to share a journey rooted in the heart of our recent practice: the visual of a golden door, behind which your intuition patiently waits.
Why Listen to Your Intuition?
Throughout our lives, we’re taught to defer to outside authority: parents, pastors, bosses, noisy social feeds. Rarely are we encouraged to slow down and tune into the quiet guidance within. As we explored together, “Grace is in every moment that we are truly present. It is a divine gift … made possible by God.” That grace, that spark, is always available, and your intuition is its gentle messenger.
The Golden Door: A Meditation Framework
Picture this: You close your eyes. You notice the slight tension across your brow, the clench in your jaw, the shoulders you didn’t realize were up around your ears. With every outbreath, you soften just a little more. This is the first step: settling into your body.
Now, imagine a door before you. Not just any door, but one crafted from beautiful, shining wood and inlaid with a golden handle. “This door represents your intuition. It is always there, waiting for you to open and to trust what’s inside. It is that voice of the higher self.”
The act of reaching for that handle is a declaration: I’m ready to listen.
Guided Practice: Walking Through the Door
Let’s put this into practice. I invite you to find a quiet spot, perhaps right now.
- Close your eyes and begin to focus on your breath. Feel your inhales and exhales. When a thought comes, simply thank it and return to your breath.
- Scan your body from head to toe. Where do you feel tight? Where can you gently release?
- Visualize the door in front of you. Notice every detail: the way the light glances off the polished wood, how the golden handle feels cool in your palm.
- Open the door. As you do, feel a warm, shining light cascade over you, enveloping you in comfort. This is your inner wisdom, sometimes a whisper, sometimes a knowing. “That light is coming from within you. It represents your intuition.”
The Power of Presence and Repetition
This is not a one-time fix. Every time you practice, you will feel the comfort and vitality of your intuition more clearly. Repeat to yourself: I am the energy. I trust the energy is flowing through me.
As we close this exercise, take a breath, feel your feet on the floor, and ask yourself: What is my intuition telling me today? It may be subtle. It may sound like your own voice. That’s okay. The point is the showing up. The listening.
Everyday Intuition: 3 Simple Prompts
- Check in with yourself before making a decision, even a small one. Ask: “What feels true to me?”
- Notice tension in your body as a clue. Is your jaw tight? Shoulders raised? What are you ignoring?
- Journal for a few minutes: “What does my intuition want me to notice or know today?”
Why This Matters
“So often, we seek refuge in outside dogma. But your greatest spiritual breakthroughs come with small, daily acts of presence.” Every moment we honor intuition, we invite peace and empowerment.
Let’s walk through the golden door again and again, with trust, patience, and gentle curiosity. Your inner light is waiting.
