June 12th is called Loving Day
In this Sunday’s talk, we explored the transformative power of universal love, a journey that begins with radical self-acceptance. We traced this theme from the lighthearted wisdom of the Sufi fable of Nasreddin who finally found peace only when he learned to love the dandelions in his garden—to the profound legacy of June 12th's Loving Day. Celebrating the landmark 1967 Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia, this historic day honors Mildred and Richard Loving, a couple who sought no spotlight but simply chose to stand firmly in the wholeness of their interracial marriage.
Their story reminds us that universal love is not just a soft romantic ideal, but a fierce, resilient truth capable of dismantling external walls and rewriting history.
